Currently, many autistic children learn to read facial expressions by working with therapists who use flashcards with faces expressing different emotions. We hope this technology can provide a convenient, affordable therapy that families can do at home.

Economics

Autism services cost U.S. citizens $236-262 billion annually. Out of this $61-66 billion accounts for the children. Children and adolescents with ASD had average medical expenditures that exceeded those without ASD by $4,110–$6,200 per year. In addition to medical costs, intensive behavioral interventions for children with ASD cost $40,000 to $60,000 per child per year.
